Okay so i thought i would do a post on all the films and movies i have been watching this summer. As ussual in the UK this summer has been pretty miserable weather wise and so when my friend offered me her friends pass to LoveFilm with three months free i jumped at the chance. First i really couldn't decide what i wanted and so i let them choose for me which meant i ended up with some really bad titles no one had ever heard of but then i started to compile my list and found there were lots of films i had missed out on and so they started coming. I am not going to cover them all in here because that would take too long but just a few of my fave's to get you started.

Okay here goes:

Butterfly on a Wheel
Release date: 28 April 2008 (UK DVD)
Cast: Gerard Butler, Maria Bello, Pierce Brosnan
Synopsis: A perfect family's dynamic is ruined by a kidnapper's brutally efficient plot.
Trailer:

Verdict: Okay I really wasn't sure about this movie at the start but it really grew on me, it kept me guessing till the end, you will not guess this ending till the very end, I can pretty much guarantee that you will have no idea what is happening but the ending is amazing.

The Butterfly Effect

Release date: 16th April 2004 (UK)
Cast: Ashton Kutcher, Amy Smart, Melora Walters
Synopsis: A young man blocks out harmful memories of significant events of his life. As he grows up, he finds a way to remember these lost memories and a supernatural way to alter his life.
Trailer:

Verdict: Okay so this was another weird one and even though a lot of the time Ashton Kutcher annoys me in this he didn't, i actually believed his character. The other roles were very good and the whole story seemed to flow really nice. This is not a late evening filler, there is a lot going on you have to pay a bit more attention than you usually would to films.

The Secret Life of Bees

Release date: 5th December 2008 (UK)
Cast: Dakota fanning, Jennifer Hudson, Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys, Hilarie Burton
Synopsis: Set in South Carolina in 1964, this is the tale of Lily Owens a 14 year-old girl who is haunted by the memory of her late mother. To escape her lonely life and troubled relationship with her father, Lily flees with Rosaleen, her caregiver and only friend, to a South Carolina town that holds the secret to her mother's past. Taken in by the intelligent and independent Boatwright sisters, Lily finds solace in their mesmerizing world of beekeeping.
Trailer:

Verdict: Okay so i really loved this movie, the characters were all totally believable, the storyline kept you guessing and of course the thing which brought it all together, the casting. Overall 10/10/

The Deathly Hallows part 1

Cast: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Bonnie Wright, Tom Felton, Jason Isaacs
Synopsis: As Harry races against time and evil to destroy the Horcruxes, he uncovers the existence of three most powerful objects in the wizarding world: the Deathly Hallows
Trailer:

Verdict: Okay so i know i really should have seen this already and i kept meaning to but i never got around to it. It was amazing and it stayed close enough to the book to keep me, the books biggest fan happy. I don't think they could have done it any better.

Inception

Release date: 16th July 2010
Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page
Synopsis: In a world where technology exists to enter the human mind through dream invasion, a highly skilled thief is given a final chance at redemption which involves executing his toughest job to date: Inception.
Trailer:

Verdict: Okay so this was another of those clever ones, I spent at least the first ten minutes completely confused but after that things seemed to make a lot more sense and I could actually follow the story.

The Blind Side

Cast: Sandra Bulock, Tim McGraw, Quinton Aaron
Synopsis: The story of Michael Oher, a homeless and traumatized boy who became an All American football player and first round NFL draft pick with the help of a caring woman and her family.
Trailer:

Verdict: I am a huge fan of Sandra Bullock and I wasn't sure about the trailer for this but as soon as i started this movie, just the first five minutes an i was hooked. This is one of those really feel good movies.

Quantum of Solace

Release date: 31st October 2008 (UK)
Cast: Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Gemma Arterton
Synopsis: Seeking revenge for the death of his love, secret agent James Bond sets out to stop an environmentalist from taking control of a country's valuable resource.
Trailer:

Verdict: Okay so I know it is another of those movies I really should have already seen but I am really glad I waited. This is one of the best bond movies I have to say mainly because of Daniel Craig.

Tamara Drewe

Release date: 10th September 2010
Cast: Gemma Arterton, Luke Evans, Dominic Cooper
Synopsis: A young newspaper writer returns to her home town in the English countryside, where her childhood home is being prepared for sale.
Trailer:

Verdict: Okay so this is probably the best of the films i have gotten from this so far, it is so rare that you get a completely British cast in a British Film, filmed in Britain and for it to be GOOD! It was just the right amount of comedy and seriousness, it kind of reminded me of  Keeping Mum.

Role Models
Release date: 9th January 2008
Cast: Paul Rudd, Seann William Scott, Jane Lynch
Synopsis: Wild behaviour forces a pair of energy drink reps to enroll in a Big Brother program.
Trailer:

Verdict: Okay so I really wan't sure that I would like this film and that it would be just too cringe worthy but actually i think they pulled it off well, the cast was excellent and the storyline left little to be desired.

Marley and Me
Release date: 11th March 2009
Cast: Owen Wilson, Jennifer Aniston
Synopsis: A family learns important life lessons from their adorable, but naughty and Neurotic dog.
Trailer:

Verdict: This was hilarious, and sad and everything a family is when it is together, I loved it.

Chalet Girl
Release Date: 16th March 2011 (UK)
Cast: Felicity Jones, Ed Westwick, Bill Nighy
Synopsis: Pretty tomboy Kim Matthews, 19, used to be a champion skateboarder - but now she's stuck in a dead end job trying to support her Dad. Opportunity comes knocking in the form of a catering job in the one of the most exclusive chalets in the Alps. At first, Kim's baffled by this bizarre new world of posh people, champagne and skiing - but then she discovers snowboarding, and the chance to win some much-needed prize money at the big end-of-season competition. But before she can become a champion again, Kim's going to have to dig deep to overcome her fears. Hard enough, without the complicating factor of Jonny, her handsome - though spoken for - boss...
Trailer:

Verdict: Okay so this was kind of another of those romantic comedies but this was better, mainly because of the amazing cast.

Monte Carlo
Release Date: 21st October 2011 (UK)
Cast: Selena Gomez, Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy
Synopsis: Three young women vacationing in Paris find themselves whisked away to Monte Carlo after one of the girls is mistaken for a British heiress.
Trailer:

Verdict: Okay so this film is kind of like any other girly body swap/ mistaken identity chick flick film so if you don't like that type of thing stay clear but i happen to love that kind and so i think this was one of the best (minus the fake British accent).
