Summer Movies

Okay so here is a list of all the movies i am excited about which are coming to cinema's this year, of course things change so i will be back here to add, swap and change things, bookmark it!

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Now
Plot: Jack Sparrow and Barbossa embark on a quest to find the elusive fountain of youth, only to discover that Blackbeard and his daughter are after it too.

Verdict: Okay so i am not as excited about this film as i was the rest in the franchise, and the missing characters might be the problem but i was willing to give it a chance, so it is up here burt as i am completely broke right now i do not think i will be going to see it, it may have to be a DVD release for this one i am afraid. Don't worry i still love you Jack, just not as keen on you new friends.

The Art of Getting by
June 17th
Plot: George, a lonely and fatalistic teen who's made it all the way to his senior year without ever having done a real day of work, is befriended by Sally, a popular but complicated girl who recognizes in him a kindred spirit.

Verdict: Okay so I am relatively excited about this one, i mean Emma Roberts has done some amazing films recently and i think this could be one of her best yet.

Bad Teacher
24th June
Plot: A comedy centered around a foul-mouthed, junior high teacher who, after being dumped by her sugar daddy, begins to woo a colleague -- a move that pits her against a well-loved teacher.

Verdict: Okay so this film has some good points and some bad points. Okay first, Cameron Diaz in a comedy, yay, you just know that cheeky grin of hers is going to get some laughs even if we don't know why she is smiling. Two and a reason she could be smiling a lot, Justin Timberlake, now i know there was a lot of speculation about him moving away from music and into the movie industry but i think he has done it remarkably well, and if past performance (the social network) is anything to go by, he has a knack for piicking scripts and acting them well. My only worry, now that i think about it, is the storyline, now you may think this is big problem but i don't know, with a cast as strong as that, it would have to be completely and utterly awful for me to not enjoy it.

Larry Crowne
1st July
Plot: After losing his job, a middle-aged man reinvents himself by going back to college.

Verdict: Okay i know i know the plot line sounds pretty poor and i think I can just about see the ending now, but i don't think Julia Roberts can do anything wrong in my books, i mean look at all the awesome films she has done (Notting Hill, Erin Brockovitch, Pretty Woman to name a few), okay so some of her recent ones have not been as excellent but maybe she can pull this one back (i think i will always say that for her), after all she is playing across from Tom Hanks, what more could you wish for, for a blockbuster.

Monte Carlo
1st July
Plot: Three young women vacationing in Paris find themselves whisked away to Monte Carlo after one of the girls is mistaken for a British heiress.

Verdict: I know I know i am a total sucker for the chick flick, but i think that this has a really strong leading class and could do really well, with lots of people not just the JPD (just past disney) crowd. I love Leighton in Gossip Girl but i really hope we see another side to her in this film, hopefully one more down to earth. The only bad thing i will say is that Selena cannot do British, she sounds awful, we do not sound like that.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
15th July
Plot: Okay so think you have to have been living in the cave for the past ten years to now know what is going on in this movie, so i am not even going to put a plot in.

Verdict: Okay so as always this movie will be amazing, i think it is the premier that more people are interested in, how many of the young stars who now seem to be desperately distancing themselves from the franchise, will turn up, who knows?

Friends with benefits
22nd July
Plot: While trying to avoid the clichés of Hollywood romantic comedies, Dylan (Timberlake) and Jamie (Kunis) soon discover however that adding the act of sex to their friendship does lead to complications.

verdict: My my Mr Timberlake, you have been busy, yes this is yet another Timberlake film that i very excited for, in this one he does have the leading man role though so it adds something for him (probably more money) but no in all seriousness, i am very excited for this obvious chick flick, no seriously.

The Change Up
5th August
Plot: A comedy in which a married guy switches bodies with his best friend in order to woo his co-worker.

Verdict: I know, i know, this just sounds awful but it is from the director of the wedding crashers (awesome),so it cannot be that bad. Mid you even if the story is bad i can spend two hours staring at Ryan Reynolds.

The Help
12th August
Plot: A look at what happens when a southern town's unspoken code of rules and behaviour is shattered by three courageous women who strike up an unlikely friendship.

Verdict: Okay so this film has Emma Stone as the main role and so on that note i think it is going to be awesome.

Spy Kids 4
19th August
Plot: A mother returns to her old profession -- she's a retired spy -- in order to prevent a villain bent on stopping time.

Verdict: Okay so I loved all the other films in this series but I think that maybe they have taken this a little too far, it is too soon to tell really.

Abduction
September 23rd
Plot: A thriller centred on a young man who sets out to uncover the truth about his life after finding his baby photo on a missing persons website.

Verdict: Okay Okay lets admit it from the get go, the only reason i am excited about this movie is Taylor Lautner.

Dream House
30th September
Plot: Soon after moving into their seemingly idyllic new home, a family learns of a brutal crime committed against former residents of the dwelling.

Verdict: Okay so there is only those two lines to go by but by attaching Daniel Craig's name i am really excited. I will post the trailer when it comes.
